13th of June is a date to put a big cross in the calendar!
The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design invites for a whole day program on research and practice on participatory design approaches, design for all strategies and universal design principles.
The reason why this conference is of great interest is the line of speakers – including Patricia Moore – who as a young promising designer for Raymond Loewy, took upon the challenge to travel across the US dressed as an old lady in the beginning of the 80s – to study the world from an elderly perspective.
The programme also include a talk from Eva Brandt, involved in the CoDesign Research cluster at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design.
Are you confused about the terms design with all, universal design, life-span design? Then have a look at my timeline, that I created during my Masters Thesis in Design Management at Southern University Denmark and Design School Kolding. The timeline puts the terms in an historical review – which I chose to scope as the empathic design discourse.
