On December the 1st CoreAct will come to Mungo Park Theatre in Kolding, Denmark to perform their poetic documentary on dementia and old age.
The documentary is part of CoreActs many visits to nursing homes in Denmark, where they have challenged the individual by their curiosity and openness towards the staff and residents.
With probes, masks and presence the performers created a “rolling room” as an installation for them to facilitate personal conversations and relations. This approach inspired them to do a play as well as one of the performers personal story of her grandfather, who suffered from dementia.
His name was Willy F. Hansen, and he was Head Gardener for the city of Copenhagen. His collection of more than 5000 personal images taken of flowers, trees and plants has inspired the scenery of the performance.
This setup makes an aesthetic and sensory setting, with the direction from Carte Blanche, a local theatre group from Viborg, Denmark.
In these weeks I teach accessory design students in “Welfare Design” as part of my PhD project. Therefore I am very happy, that the students will experience the performance, as part of their research and inspiration phase into women 65+, accessory design and wearable health technology.
Link to tickets at Mungo Park Kolding. The play will start at 12.00 and again at 19.30 on the 1st of December 2016.
