Due to my pregnancy I was not allowed to board a plane to go to Hong Kong myself, to present my first research paper “Intimacy in Accessories” at the Cumulus conference “Open Design for E-very-Thing”.
Therefore I teamed up with my supervisor Anne Louise Bang, Associate Professor at Design School Kolding, who travelled all the way to Hong Kong to do the job!
As the Cumulus conference will take place at Design School Kolding, in June 2017 – there were more delegates from Kolding attending Anne Louise’s presentation. And therefore this picture was taken, to be posted on twitter.
Many thoughts have been put in to the paper – firstly approaching the idea of creating a one week teaching course for the Accessory Design students at Design School Kolding (my first as a PhD fellow). Then finding three volunteers, for having the students visiting them in their private homes, to talk about their favourite accessories. And then formulate the project, into a research paper, on how accessory design and its need defining choices for wearing them, can inform the future design of wearable health technology.
Thanks to Anne Louise, Henry (my other supervisor) the brave students and the nice women who participated!
