I just framed the title of my 10 minutes presentation at “Bits and Beers WHINN 2019” in Odense, Denmark 19th of November.
The framing Design or die? concerns the issues and paradoxes for companies who wants to develop personalised wearable health products. I have explored this as an emerging field of interest, as wearables health products that are not perceived as personal for the wearer, can be put away and in worst case, not used at all (Hocking 1999). This is a waste of ressources. The question is then – if a company do not implement a personal approach towards the design of such wearable health products, will the company then die?
