In 2017 Gads Forlag published the book ‘Innovation I Sundhedsvæsnet’ edited by Fredskild, Dalkjær og Langberg. I was asked to write a chapter about design and design methods for innovating the health and social care sector.
The book is aimed at nursing, occupational therapy, bio analytics and physiotherapy students, and is therefore written with that perspective in mind.
The chapter therefore highlights different cases from my own practice as design practitioner, researchers and strategist.
You can read the chapter here with examples from:
- Experiences from my MA in Design Health and Well-being, who kickstarted this blog, focussing the patient as co-creator
- Design School Koldings project for Skansebakken ‘Design af Relationer’, in which they won ‘KLs Innovationspris’ in 2015, focussing citizen’s reel needs
- Care staff as co-creators, focussing my time at Center for Communication and Welfare Technology at Region of Southern Denmark
- Aesthetic wearables for personal use and empowerment, based on my PhD project in which I combine accessory design students, and the Start Up company Cortrium.
